Digital twins can make routine patient communication faster and more consistent, but only if patients and staff trust them. This paper outlines a practical framework built on four commitments: written consent from the person being represented, clear disclosure to the patient in every interaction, human review of scripts and escalation rules, and an easy path to withdraw consent.
Why disclosure matters
Patients should never wonder whether they are speaking with a person. Disclosure is a patient-safety and trust measure, not a legal footnote.
Oversight
Every twin works from an approved script library and a rules set owned by the practice. Anything outside those boundaries is handed to a human.
